A Few of My Favorite Things: May's List

There's the list of to-do's and only three days left until it's time to fly east, but there's also a glass of wine, a few squares of chocolate, and my hubby on the couch next to me. May's list is a little different. Instead of links to this & that, I chose six favorite pictures from the month. Enjoy!
I took an online photography course during most of May. One of the weeks focused on taking self portraits. Admittedly it felt a little weird focusing the camera on myself (something about not wanting to come across as self-centered), but I really enjoyed capturing myself in different settings and moods. It's something I'd like to explore further.
This may be my most favorite shot of the entire month. I love seeing me and Gini together. I love that we were about to eat a delicious breakfast outside a fun little restaurant. I love the composition, especially the pop of yellow umbrella in the upper right corner.
Oh that smile! This was one of the hottest days we've had so far, but she needed to accessorize with a scarf because "the grocery store is cold, Mama". I couldn't argue with that. Even though her style doesn't always match mine, I appreciate that she hasn't learned to care about what others might think. I wish it could always be that way.
Lee and I celebrated 10 years of marriage with a two night trip to La Jolla, CA. This was the view from our hotel room. Pretty perfect. How about that heart cloud in the upper left corner?!
I ate the best meal of my entire life so far during our weekend away. Seriously, amazing. There are few things I love more than fancy meals in upscale restaurants where the menus read like fine literature, the chefs spend their mornings gathering ingredients from local farms, and the food is a work of art for my eyes and my taste buds.
Liza had her own special weekend with Aunt Gibi and Uncle Allen. She had a blast bowling, eating candy, digging in the mud, and having a pool party. I love the relationship they have with her. It's so much fun to watch.

I didn't even notice that tongue sticking out when we took the bowling picture. Hilarious child.
