Lee and I are pen people, always on the lookout for the ultimate writing tool. When one of us finds a good one, we bring a second one home to share. He brought me a black, fine point TUL early in the month. It quickly became my favorite, and none of my other previous favorites quite measure up. Could this really be THE ONE?
2. Art sung by Tanya Davis, video by Andrea Dorfman
I first heard this song on a commercial, and the words really resonated with me. When I saw this video, I fell head over heels for the whole package. It's been my theme song this month as I continue to tell my stories here.
3. Knitting
Once I decided that I really wanted to spend this year focused on writing (and reading), I put all my other crafty hobbies away. Liza has entered a stage where she wants my company, my listening ear, but not necessarily my active participation in whatever play she's engaged in. My fingers and brain were itching for something to do while hanging out, though. Writing isn't an option, and while reading is, it's frustrating for both of us if she feels like chatting. Knitting provides the best of both worlds! I can be engaged in a hobby I love while still being able to carry on a conversation. Check out the felted bowl pictured above. It was a quick knit, both mindless and fun.
4. Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick
Two stories. One told in words. The other in pictures.
"Maybe, thought Ben, we are all cabinets of wonders."
I loved this story for so many different reasons, and if I had a bucket list, visiting The Queens Museum of Art to see The Panorama of NYC would be on it. (Tricia, have you been? Someday we're going to go.)

Have you tried the new Zebra retractable gel pen? I have always found Zebra pens and mechanical pencils comfortable in the hand. And they come packaged in pairs!
I love imagining you knitting while Liza stays busy with her own business and chatters at you.
