1. My Hubby
Lee and I celebrated 10 years of marriage in April. During one of my recent internet wanderings, I read this quote by Robert Fulghum that I adore. "We're all a little weird. And life is weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness - and call it love - true love."
2. Vienna Teng
She keeps showing up on my Pandora stations. I know very little about her other than I love her music. Her voice is beautiful, and her songs are filled with story. There's not much music I can listen to while writing, but Vienna Teng's works for me. Harbor is one of my favorites. I love Lullaby for a Stormy Night, Homecoming, and 1br/1ba too.
Fashion and make-up have never been of much interest to me. I'm definitely not up on the latest trends. I think I do a fine job of looking presentable in public, but I wouldn't recommend asking me for any fashion advice. My standards for looking "put together" have certainly lowered since becoming a mama. Many days it's all I can do to get us both out of the house with clothes on and hair brushed on time, you know? Last November my friend Misty pointed me in the direction of this fantastic lip gloss, though. No matter what state I reach the car in each morning, at least I know at the first red light I'll be able to do something pretty with my lips. Thanks, M!
I've already written about my love for Instagram. Sharing this challenge with my sister-in-law and a good friend made me love it even more. It was fun to see how differently each of us interpreted the daily prompt. Some days were really easy to capture, others made us think. I'm thankful for a few really special shots I got (like the one above) that might have gone undocumented had I not been participating in the challenge. My most favorite part, though...it kept us in really close contact with each other throughout the month. We're working our way through May's list now.
