*I'm learning to be okay with not finishing a book. There are so many titles on my must-read list that wasting time on books that can't hold my attention isn't worth it to me anymore. Don't worry, they all get a fair shot. I subtract my age from 100 and that's how many pages I give a book to reel me in. If it doesn't, then back to the library it goes.

*I've decided that Easter has usurped Christmas as my favorite holiday. The weather is better. The color scheme makes me happy. Filling a basket is just as fun as filling a stocking (at least that's what the Bunny told me). But most of all, there are less expectations for epic-ness and that made all the difference to me this year.

*I want to frame my half of the bathroom mirror in quotes. Words can be powerful healers. Surrounding my reflection with some of my favorites sounds like a very good thing to me.

*Madeleine L'Engle says, "To write consistently, I must seize opportunities." There aren't many alone or idle moments during my day, but I've been paying more attention to when writing opportunities may be presenting themselves. Lately, inspiration has been seizing me in the kitchen while I'm prepping dinner. There's something about the repetitive motions of the kitchen (and perhaps that glass of red) that seem to spark my writer's mind into action.

*The best moments that Liza and I share during our days are when we're reading books together. I can get her to cooperate with almost any task (undressing, brushing teeth, potty time) if I'm reading to her while she does it. Yesterday morning we spent a blissful 30 minutes sitting at a mini table in Barnes & Noble, sharing three old favorites and one new to us. Reading always brings us back into a peaceful relationship. I'm so grateful that we've got that love for books working for us.

So are you taking your computer into the kitchen with you?
