WITL 2012 - Monday

Morning
Reading while eating breakfast makes me very happy. I try to slip in a few pages each morning while Liza is occupied with her meal and Curious George. I always swore to myself that my child wouldn't watch t.v., but you know what, I love reading while eating breakfast and making dinner by myself in a quiet kitchen, so there you go. That's oatmeal with bananas, cinnamon, slivered almonds, and dark chocolate chips on my plate...another favorite. I finished a book last night and began another this morning. It's a YA novel and one of this year's Printz Honorees. I'm just 40 pages in, and it hasn't grabbed me yet. Sometimes it's hard for me to switch gears from one author's writing style to another. I've got high hopes for it, though.
Noon
Other than filling the Jeep up with gas, we didn't have anything pressing to do today. I gave Liza the choice of a trip to the bookstore or a visit to the BIG library (it's huge compared to the tiny one where we attend story time each week). She chose the BIG library and specifically wanted to  "say hi to the fish".
 Night
My new favorite dip for raw veggies...fill the well of a pitted avocado with balsamic vinegar, a drizzle of olive oil, and the tiniest sprinkling of salt. Use carrots and cucumbers to dip and dig out all that goodness. Yum!
