Little Sous Chef

Liza loves to help in the kitchen, especially when there's a sweet reward at the end. We made Lee's favorite Chocolate Peppermint Cookies today. It was an all day affair punctuated by some playdoh time, a family run, and a much-needed nap for all of us. The breaks helped mama's patience remain in balance amidst spills, dropped and shattered candy canes, the glug of peppermint extract that was supposed to be added in drops, and sticky icing spread on more than just those cookie tops. Really though, she's an amazing helper for her age. She's learned how particular I am and grants me just as much (if not more) patience in the process.
